DISMISSAL OF GRAND LARCENY CHARGE IN CONCORD COURT
Attorney Reinhardt was contacted by a client residing in the Midwest who was hoping to clear up a default warrant for larceny arising from a charge more than 10 years old. The warrant was blocking him from obtaining a driver’s license which he needed due to multiple medical appointments. His significant health challenges prevented him from returning to Massachusetts. He had been in touch with other lawyers who were unable to assist. After gathering recent medical records, Attorney Reinhardt presented a motion to the Court asking that the client be allowed to remove the default remotely. Although highly unusual, the Court agreed. Attorney Reinhardt was then able to convince the prosecutor to dismiss the charge, upon payment of restitution, prior to arraignment. The prosecutor agreed and the matter was dismissed without any entry on client’s criminal history and without his return to Massachusetts.
